Yep, we had a female which stopped with us for a couple of months. She spent most of the time on a suet block, but she did also regularly take sunflower hearts. She left about a week ago. 2 winters ago a Lesser Whitethroat was much less likely to take sunflower hearts & was virtually clamped to the suet block for 4 months!
Sadly I've never had a blackcap in my garden - yet. I do have plenty of goldfinches and they love the sunflower hearts but they won't touch niger seeds.
I am David Lindo and I am The Urban Birder - broadcaster, writer, talker and bird guider.
My whole vibe is about getting urbanites to realise that there is a whole world of wildlife under their noses in the world's cities.

Yes ditto. We had a male for about a fortnight in March on our black sunflower seed mix.
For two years running (Jan through to early March) we have had both male and female regularly taking sunflower hearts and on the fatball feeder.
The only Blackcap I have seen in my garden was on the Sunflower Hearts then off. I have had Goldfinches every day for over 12 months they love them.
